Thanks to the Representative feature of Ponto, you can access the financial data of your customer (the represented organization) directly from your software, to automate your business processes (such as bookkeeping, property management, audit, etc.).
This data sharing is enabled through a mandate framework provided by Ponto. With the mandate given by your customer, you can consult the transactions and balances of the bank accounts they have added to the scope of the mandate, and inject this data into your software. Your customer remains in control and can revoke your mandate at any time.
Creating an integration between your software and the bank accounts of your customer through a Ponto mandate is a simple process:
Access the settings of your Ponto organization and click to request the role of representative. Fill in the form to provide additional details about your activity, your legal status and structure (UBOs, legal representatives). Our team will review your information and grant you the representative role. We will send you an email once done. The process can take up to a few days.
As a representative, you send an invitation link to your customer, for example, by email. You can find your private invitation link in the settings of your Ponto organization.
By following the invitation link, your customer signs up with Ponto and authorizes the connection between Ponto and their bank accounts. Note that every six months, in accordance with PSD2 requirements, your customer must reauthorize the connection with the bank. Ponto will notify your customer in due time.
Your customer gives your organization a mandate for the bank accounts of their choice.
Ponto sends you a notification email to inform you about the new mandate.
You create the integration between your software and the represented organization, for the accounts that your customer added in the scope of the mandate.
Your software fetches your customer’s data from Ponto. Note that Ponto refreshes your customer’s data several times per day in the background (read more).
Remarks:
You can share the management of you represented organizations between different Ponto users (Read more). For that purpose, you can add users to your organization. The Collaborator role enables the user to manage a pool of represented organizations. As the owner of the organization, you can then select the organizations that can be managed by the user.
To process the financial data of your customers in your software as a representative, you must create integrations (one per represented organization). You will therefore be charged as described in our pricing model. For your customers, however, it is totally free to create mandates in Ponto.
