Ponto enables your software to access your financial data automatically. It acts as a technical bridge between your software and your bank account. The technical connection between your software and Ponto is called "integration," and the connection between Ponto and your bank is called "authorization."

Linking your bank account to your software through Ponto is as simple as a walk in the park:

  1. You click within your software to initiate the onboarding flow (contact your software provider if necessary).

  2. Ponto asks you to select your bank.

  3. Ponto requests your email address and basic information about your organization (name, VAT number & country).

  4. You give consent to Ponto to approach your bank on your behalf, in accordance with PSD2 requirements.

  5. Ponto redirects you to the bank domain, where you authenticate with your usual bank credentials.

  6. You select the bank accounts you wish to link to your software.

  7. The bank creates the "authorization" and redirects you back to Ponto.

  8. Ponto retrieves all available transactions from the bank accounts you've authorized (Ponto will then synchronize your new transactions multiple times per day). Ponto conserves your bank transactions history as long as you do not unlink your bank account from Ponto.

  9. You give consent to Ponto to share your financial data with your software.

  10. Ponto creates the "integration" and redirects you back to your software.

Note that Ponto also supports custom integrations for companies that do not use off-the-shelf software but have developed their own bespoke solutions (read more about custom integrations).

There is no limit to the number of bank accounts you can link to Ponto.

At any time, you can withdraw your integration and authorization via your Ponto dashboard
